Hannah Schmidt Elected to Phi Beta Kappa at SUNY Geneseo

Faculty members at the State University of New York at Geneseo have elected a local student to the college's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most widely known academic honor society.

Hannah Schmidt, a Senior from Putnam Valley, NY (10579) was among 80 selected for membership this spring from Geneseo's junior and senior classes.

About 10 percent of the nation's institutions of higher learning have a Phi Beta Kappa chapter. Geneseo is the only undergraduate SUNY college with a chapter, which was created in 2004.
